     Ah, cramming! Who does not enjoy a little cram session? To me, a person simply cannot be human if they do not. Sure, they are stressful and somewhat hard to get through, but in the end it turns out to be worth it. Now, what I am doing is not what I would necessarily call a cram session. Instead, I would call it a compilation of last minute changes I am making. The Final Task shall be posted tomorrow, meaning all of my work will be displayed onto yet another blog, which is exciting. However, I am faced with my perfectionist tendencies once again. Therefore, here I am, making last minute changes in my editing for the final product. You know what I find funny? The fact that this has become a routine for me to struggle every week. I know it is normal to experience bumps in the road when it comes to projects. And yes, I know that the mind sometimes runs out of creativity. However, I have come to realize that this is just the calm before the storm. Please let me to explain I have noticed this. Well throughout this week, I have just been trying to keep my project in order and make sure it is in tiptop shape for the final production. Yes, that included some editing troubles and the deleting of multiple clips. But as this week settled in, I realized that exams will be even harder. I know teachers have prepared us students to take this test with ease, but it just does not seem easy to me. I am well aware I am not supposed to be stressing about exams at this moment as the finality of this project will be posted soon but I cannot help it. The Swap Shop was a success. I was able to set my mind on the costumes needed for the characters. With the vibrant colors of clothing hung in each booth, each article of clothing gave a burst of creativity into my mindset. I mainly had to focus on the fact that I had to portray each character without any kind of error. It was most daunting to me how I was given the responsibility to get the viewer(s) to understand each character’s intention or motive. Each detail about them had to be displayed within this small amount of time. Or at least the most significant parts. Clothing tells wonders about a person, especially if they decide to be expressive with their wardrobe. I started to think about the little time I had to wrap this project up and what I had to do to have the characters portrayed in the video. Procrastination is my worst enemy. There is nothing worse than procrastination taking over my brain. For the past few days, I have done absolutely nothing. Are you seeing the pattern? I am. I will have these random bursts of energy, creativity, and inspiration to splurge it all on this project or doing my other schoolwork. Then soon behind that, I will feel tired and burnt out. Okay, so it has been a pretty weird week. Why? I will tell you. This week I decided to attempt playing around with editing. I was pretty optimistic going into it, but as I tried the different techniques and effects of editing, I grew clueless and dissatisfied. I was attempting to edit along the way and found myself unsatisfied with the way I filmed and directed. There were plenty of things I did not like about my footage. There was the lighting, the angles, and the shots that just were not executed correctly. Overall, the angles were pitiful. I have no idea why I thought it was good the first time. The angles were either too low or too high, sometimes simply crooked. Meanwhile, the lighting impacted the glare on the subject’s glasses, also making a difference on how the subject looked. The subject would either appear darker or way lighter than they actually were.  With that being said, I will be redoing my filming. This requires me to alter my schedule a little bit. Production was not the slightest bit on my mind. For this past week, I have just been relaxing. Sure, I would have the constant worry of the upcoming worry I had to do. However, I repeatedly had to remind myself that I needed to take a break. After all, I had deserved it. Even if it did not feel like I should have been resting, it was something that was essential. In the process of creation and productivity, it is important to have a healthy mindset and a healthy balance between work and breaks. Therefore, this week for spring break, I did the bare minimum if not nothing. I flushed school from my system then drowned in the fun activities of watching movies, bingeing tv shows, and meditating. Even though I have been bombarded with the last minute work teachers have given us students, I was able to do very few things to contribute to this project. Saying my time was limited would be an understatement. Nearly every hour after school was taken up with "optional" assignments or assignments that were extremely time consuming. Yay. Therefore, I had to look at my circumstances and suck it up. Sadly. Disregarding my sleep deprivation and desire for a break, I worked on the film. Only at the end of the night did I work on it, but I did contribute. I made it significant to sift my way through different editing apps while drifting off into slumber. Filming has officially started! It has been a hassle thus far. However, I have finally worked everything out to where I can finally start the filming process. But let me explain the bumps in the road. Well, the bump. Transportation! It was either the explanation that someone did not have a ride or lost their ride. It felt like I was planning a wedding with the amount of ripping and running I was doing. I mean, seriously, it was hectic. Also, yes, some could argue it was my fault, but I beg to differ. Hear me out here! Only a couple of my friends have their driver's license. Therefore, gas money was coming out of my pockets. I had the spontaneous idea to shoot a scene at a local skating rink. Also, my friends and I were trying to celebrate my birthday as well so I thought it would work perfectly. Little did I know, customers had to be 18 or older to get inside. I am such a procrastinator! I made a schedule for filming and set ideas. However, I have come up with nothing. This week has been filled with worksheets, tests, quizzes, and discussions on societal problems. The filming process for this has been on the back burner for a week and a half. Although, if I stop being pessimistic, I can think of some productive things I have done for this film. For example, I have figured out the general settings I want for the opening scene. The bare minimum I have done is gathering some friends of mine to star in my film. I made sure to sift through their clothing to see what correlates with my vision.  I learned something. None of my friends possessed the slightest bit of color in their wardrobes. Production has yet to start. Due to countless nights of sleep deprivation, barely any work has been able to get done. My days are on a practically never-ending cycle. I get up, go to school, do schoolwork, then sleep and eat in between. There is not much thrill. Not much excitement. This kind of jeopardizes projects for me because there is not much to look forward to or much to do in general. Often, it is the same actions being done every day. The only thing that kind of keeps my creative juices flowing is music. The music can be of any kind. It could classical, indie pop, jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, anything but EDM an Hard Rock Metal. My days are better that way. Music keeps me imaginative. They keep my wild, crazy thoughts from going dull, which is why this opening scene has not drifted completely from my mind. This week was hectic. I did not film or even work out ideas for editing. With the SAT being this week, it was hard to balance homework and preparations for the standardized test. However, I did focus on schoolwork more than anything. I made sure to prioritize my homework before my hardcore studying. It was difficult to maintain stability while going through the stress that is the SAT. I am talking about a test that practically judges your value to a higher school. The next step you take to becoming an adult is reliant on a test that you could genuinely just be bad at taking. That scares me.  Thus, why I did not film. I only planned out the opening sequence by doing the storyboard and drawing out the title design. It was fun being able to let my imaginative and creative mindset take over.
