Production Blog: The Time Has Come
Ah, cramming! Who does not enjoy a little cram session? To me, a person simply cannot be human if they do not. Sure, they are stressful and somewhat hard to get through, but in the end it turns out to be worth it. Now, what I am doing is not what I would necessarily call a cram session. Instead, I would call it a compilation of last minute changes I am making. The Final Task shall be posted tomorrow, meaning all of my work will be displayed onto yet another blog, which is exciting. However, I am faced with my perfectionist tendencies once again. Therefore, here I am, making last minute changes in my editing for the final product. I know it does not have to be perfect, but I at least want it to my best abilities.
The changes I am making all have to do with the transitions from scene to scene. I refrained from making the film fade to black at any moment. It just did not fit the genre for me. Dare I say, it was not part of my vision. So, I am filling in those blanks and making the transitions smoother. I cannot cut off too soon because then it will be choppy. However, if I leave a scene going for too long, it will not sync up with the next and it will look a mess. I want anything but that. Hopefully my last pinch of creativity for this project can recharge itself and leap out once again to complete the last bit of this production. As I am editing, I notice my slight improvement in directing the last few shots. They are different and types of shots that I never would have really gone for, especially with this being one of my first times filming something this rigorous. I am sure this will all pay off, and I am excited to see the full product reviews.
