The genre I will be doing is drama. Specifically, of the coming of age genre. I decided to do my final task on the drama genre because it is compatible with the storyline I am pursuing. My concept for this film is to talk about the societal expectations a teen suffers from. Nowadays, teens are told to follow a certain path then they will succeed. That is not what it is a lot of times and is definitely easier said than done. This film will focus on the struggles of a teen girl as she fights for her shot at a scholarship. As the director, I plan to capture the stress that builds in the characters. I think this is such an important topic to touch on. Society kind of turns a blind eye on mental illness.
