Props included:

Because I have decided to produce a KISS commercial, the main props being used would be makeup products like, mascara and eyeshadow. Props featured would be a laptop, a hoodie, a cellphone.

Costumes:

There is one person as the subject in this commercial. In makeup commercials, there is either formal or casual clothing being worn. For example, for a formal setting there would be a sultry red dress worn for sex appeal or for the message to get across that the woman is an adult. In this case, the subject would be wearing a t-shirt along with comfortable, yet casual pants along with a hoodie.

Schedule:

On 11/1/20, I will research the conventions and codes of a makeup product commercial.

On 11/1/2020, I will determine the props, schedule, costumes, location list, and backup plan.

On 11/3/2020, I will create the storyboard for my 30-second commercial.

On 11/3/2020, I will also film and record the needed shots for the commercial.

On 11/4/2020, I will edit and add on any final touches to the commercial.

Location List:

The main location of this commercial will be in my home, my bedroom specifically. In the bedroom, the subject will be filmed waking up frantically, unready for a day of work then quickly rushing to use the product. There would be small cuts to an alarm going off or time ticking downward.

The second location would be my living room, being as that is where I start my day productively. The subject would sit at the dining room table, opening their laptop to greet a teacher or classmate(s).

Backup Plan:

If there were to be any weather issues to where I could not achieve the necessary amount of lighting or desired mood of the commercial, lights and filters would be used for those impressions.

Filming Blog        As mentioned in earlier blogs, filming took place inside my home. Filming took place on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. I knew that since I was the only one in the commercial, it would be simpler to finish. That also came with its disadvantages though. For certain shots, specifically in the 1 st , 2 nd , and 7 th scenes, I needed someone else to hold the camera since I was the subject of the film. However, somehow, I made it work perfectly by sing objects around my house like shelves or chairs with wheels. The main difficulty I had was quiet on set. My dog continuously would bark or squeak his chew toy. I resulted to closing multiple doors to drown out his noises and keep him in one place for the small duration of time. Another mild difficulty I had was lighting. There were times where the brightness would be too high on the camera so it would not be compatible with the lighting of the room, or the lighting was so low that it made the camera quality worse.    My name is Bremari Henry. I am a 16-year-old in the eleventh grade. Within the previous years, I have learned a couple things about myself. I am a fast learner, and I also work very well when it comes to group work or communicating with others. I signed up for digital media because I always wanted to explore every aspect of art, whether it was music, dance, drawing (digitally or on paper), or design. Even though I was put into AICE Media, it is still a start into exploring a form of art, which is film. Emotions or intentions can be captured by the directorial choices in a film. I think it would do my imagination some good since I have quite a wide range of it.    This comes into play when I participate in the clubs I attend around school. CCR- Music Video Project

  Creative Critical Reflection How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  - My product is a music video to "Six Feet Apart" by Alec Benjamin. My product breaks the conventions of a pop music video. Most pop videos have a lot of color in them, representing happiness and cheer. I think this video disbands that idea. People in society start to feel anxious and panicked when everyone nut the is happy. This can severely damage a person physically and mentally. 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?     -My product would be distributed through YouTube or Instagram IGTV. I would aim it for audiences who can relate. Sometimes, it is hard to be alone. Whether it is you feel worthless or paranoid or even overwhelmed by the silence.
