Editing Blog- Commercial
Well...it was progress! My editing was far from smooth in the finishing product, however, it was an improvement from the last production. My first obstacle was editing the commercial into 30 seconds. I had to decipher what points I felt were needed to get across to my viewers, as well as what I ultimately wanted the production to look like. There was difficulty making the clips shorter in a small amount of time. With the commercial permitting only 30 seconds, I had to really narrow down the clip or do whatever I wanted in the clip quick enough for it to make the cut. When it came to transitions from scene to scene, I had to make them sharp but not so much to where the scene would not finish. It was hard to not make it look so choppy and disorganized. That was probably the most difficult task of it all.
To edit, I used the iMovie app on my phone. Changes like cuts or added sound effects were harder to apply due to my phone screen being small. I also used different photo editing apps for applying different textual effects I wanted. For example, different colors or transitions. Another obstacle was the process of editing being so time consuming. Throughout this difficult time of maintaining stability in all areas (mental, physical, etc.), I found it very difficult to balance both this production and my personal life. It was also challenging due to my mild experience with editing. Do not get me wrong, I am one imaginative human being, but when it came to editing, my mind grew blank. Editing has several layers that I have yet to discover. All having to do with color, texts, enhancing directorial movements, and so on.
Overall, editing was not that hard, but like always, I have plenty room for improvement.
